University of Evansville - President

Evansville, IN

Job Description

The University of Evansville seeks an exceptional, accomplished and forward-looking leader to serve as the next President for a campus that enjoys both a rich tradition of academic excellence and a strong foundation on which to build further success.

For more than 160 years, the University has been committed to active learning and scholarship in a student-centered environment, while offering a distinctive curriculum that is grounded in the liberal arts and sciences. The University benefits from a strong and highly rated academic program, a student-centered culture, a committed faculty and student body, a beautiful campus, a responsive and supportive Board of Trustees, and many unique programs that distinguish the University’s educational experience - including Harlaxton College, the University’s British living and learning center.

During this time of transformational change in higher education and to realize the University’s great potential, the University pursues an inspiring leader of people and programs to serve as its 24th president. The successful candidate will embrace this awareness and use inspiring, engaging, and innovative guidance to better position the University into a growing, sustainable business model that advances its educational mission.

The next president of the University of Evansville will have the opportunity to leave an historic imprint on this storied institution. Thus the University also seeks a leader who has a passion for higher education and the ability to incite a community to take bold action by sparking innovation, building consensus, motivating people to action, and holding them accountable. Doing so will require all the traits of great leadership, including a sound grasp of and proven, successful experience in institutional finances, branding, and external relations. Previous successful experience in fundraising is strongly preferred.

Inquiries, nominations, and applications are invited. For fullest consideration, applicant materials should be received by January 31, 2018. Candidates should provide a resume or curriculum vitae, a letter of application that addresses the responsibilities and requirements described in the leadership profile, and the names and contact information of five references. Candidate confidentiality will be respected, and references will not be contacted without prior knowledge and approval of candidates. Inquiries and application materials should be sent via e-mail to the University’s consultants, Dennis M. Barden, Charlene Aguilar, and Elizabeth K. Bohan of Witt/Kieffer, at EvansvillePresident@wittkieffer.com. Questions also may be directed to the consultants through the office of Laurie Adams at 630-575-6152.
