We are pleased to be assisting Albany Medical Center in their search for a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as the next Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The CNO is the Chief Nursing Officer for all of Albany Medical Center, including the main campus and South Clinical Campus hospitals as well as the nursing areas of the physician practices of AMCH and Albany Medical College. The CNO works collaboratively to develop patient care standards that meet business objectives and create an environment conducive to a positive and satisfying patient and family experience. The new CNO reports to Dr. Vincent Verdile, M.D., Sr. Executive Vice President for System Care Delivery & Dean, Albany Medical College, Albany Medical Center with daily operational oversight to Dr. Ferdinand Venditti, M.D., EVP for System Care Delivery & Hospital General Director and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs. 

Albany Med is northeastern New York’s only academic health sciences center and is one of the largest private employers in the Capital Region. Albany Med incorporates the 734-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital and Albany Medical College, which also includes a biomedical research enterprise and the region’s largest physicians practice with more than 450 doctors. Additionally, Albany Med is affiliated with Columbia Memorial Health and Saratoga Hospital to provide the largest locally governed health system in the region. Combined, these three hospitals offer nearly 1,100 beds and outpatient locations throughout the Capital Region.

The successful candidate will be a visible, accessible and unifying partner, engaging with nurses and leadership at all levels, to foster an environment of trust, support and collaboration as he/she modernizes care delivery in a way that balances legacy and progress. Union experience is required, and the successful candidate will have experience negotiating with unions at the bargaining table.  A bachelor's in nursing as well as master’s degree in nursing, business administration, public health or relevant related field, is required.
