Job Description

Los Angeles, CA – Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC), an 886-licensed acute care bed, Level I Trauma Center is seeking an experienced, collaborative and progressive physician leader to serve as the Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer (SVP/CMO).

CSMC serves both the Southern California community and the national and international market for the highest quality care including patients referred to the facility for the world’s most advanced, complex care.  It is renowned for a wide range of tertiary and quaternary clinical services in heart disease, cancer, organ transplantation, neurology and neurosurgery, high-risk obstetrics, metabolic diseases and orthopedics.

CSMC’s commitment to achieving top-decile performance in quality patient care and patient satisfaction in excess of national benchmarks is an integral part of the medical center’s foundation.  The SVP/CMO, in concert with the senior leadership team, is responsible for setting and implementing an innovative agenda for excellence in the delivery of clinical services.  The SVP/CMO will work collaboratively with executive and clinical leaders across the system to guide the comprehensive, strategic and tactical planning and implementation of quality and safety programs on an inpatient and ambulatory basis.

The successful candidate will be a physician with appropriate board certification and a substantive track record of leadership in a complex, high performing academic medical center.  He/she will be seen as a champion of exceptional quality, have an intimate knowledge of clinical practice, an understanding of the business of healthcare, an appreciation of the integrated relationship between the clinical and academic elements of mission and will command the respect of peers and colleagues through professional achievement and fairness.
