Job Description

Penn State Health (PSH), in Hershey, Pennsylvania, is seeking candidates for the newly created position of Vice President (VP), Penn State Health Community Medical Group (PSHCMG). Given the evolution of PSH and its goals to further grow and coordinate its existing, new and future partnerships with community providers, this new leadership role will be focused on helping to expand, coordinate and develop the infrastructure that supports PSH’s relationships with community-based providers.

Penn State Health Community Medical Group (PSHCMG), is a multi-specialty Medical Group that has recently partnered with Penn State Health, based in part on the recent partnership established with Physicians Associates of Lancaster, and with planned alignment with the 100-plus providers currently affiliated with St. Joseph’s in Reading, a Penn State affiliated hospital. PSHCMG is comprised of more than 120 physicians, advanced practice clinicians and registered dieticians at 13 practice locations in Lancaster, Dauphin and York counties, serving approximately 100,000 patients in their various sites of service.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Penn State Community Medical Group, the Vice President’s primary role is to inspire and lead PSHCMG’s staff, as they work to achieve the goals of access to high-quality medical care for PSHCMG patients, recruitment and retention of providers and staff and oversight of operational improvement initiatives. The VP will be responsible for identify opportunities to grow, support and coalesce all PSH affiliated community providers through a new model that will initially include identified regions within PSHCMG. 

Candidates must possess progressively advanced leadership experience in physician practice management with community-based providers. Candidates should have experienced success in physician relations within organizations operating across multiple sites. The successful candidate will have strong strategic skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively help organizations evolve to achieve high performance. A graduate degree in business, healthcare administration or closely related field is required.
