Witt/Kieffer has been retained to conduct the search for the Vice President, Chief Information Officer (VP/CIO) for Huntington Hospital located in Pasadena, California.

Huntington Hospital (Huntington) is one of the premier healthcare institutions in the Western United States serving the healthcare needs of the nearly two million residents of Pasadena, California and the greater San Gabriel Valley.  Huntington is a sophisticated 619-bed not-for-profit, specialty oriented hospital that continues its growth trajectory with the acquisition of the Huntington Ambulatory Surgery Center and development of a clinically integrated network (CIN).  Huntington is a HIMSS Stage 6 hospital and a Hospitals & Health Networks Most Wired health system.  Healthgrades has recognized Huntington as a top 50 hospital in the United States. 

Huntington is an outstanding opportunity to join a strong, vibrant hospital that is consistently ranked among the best in the United States for quality and innovating care.  Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the VP/CIO will serve as a strategic leader for the information technology department.  The VP/CIO will be a dynamic collaborator responsible for developing an IT strategic plan to align with the business goals and objectives of the organization and to ensure that the hospital is able to maintain its strong market share and independence.  The VP/CIO will be a key leader in the development of the CIN.  The VP/CIO will continue to look for ways to better integrate community physicians with the hospital clinical, billing and administrative systems.  The VP/CIO will look for opportunities to optimize the Cerner EMR system to improve patient care, safety and the use of evidence based care. 

The ideal candidate will be a mission driven leader with substantial experience in a complex hospital system; ideally within a strong independent hospital system environment.  A strong history of creating adaptable IT strategies, championing continuous improvement initiatives and developing analytics to increase care coordination is required.  Additionally, a track record managing a proactive and customer service oriented IT team is essential.  A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred.
