John McFarland, consultant, is known for building strong and trusting relationships with both clients and candidates. His attention to the unique elements of each organization’s culture and vision translates to meaningful candidate and client engagement. John identifies C-suite and senior executive leaders in all areas and facets of healthcare as well as major foundations, trusts, charitable and civic organizations across the nonprofit landscape. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta office.
Prior to joining WittKieffer, John worked for Ernst & Young, where he was a senior consultant and project manager for health systems and other major clients. Most notably, he provided management support and overall facilitation for the ICD-10 program at one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit healthcare providers. He also advised and helped manage a major professional services IT transformation program, driving decisions between teams and overseeing standards, cost and communication.
In addition to John’s operational leadership experiences as a U.S. Army veteran, he gained expertise in program and financial management. His past roles include Division Budget Officer, Company Commander, Assistant Operations Officer, Executive Officer and Platoon Leader. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and has been stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Fort Carson, Colorado. John currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Charitable Care Network.
