The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine seeks a collaborative, visionary and nationally recognized radiologist to serve as its next Chair for the Department of Radiology. As part of the OSU Wexner Medical Center’s growth and strategic plan to become a top 20 academic medical center, the next chair will have a unique opportunity to substantially build upon the department’s research, education and patient care missions.

The department hosts 65 outstanding faculty providing advanced diagnostic and interventional specialty services across the OSU Wexner Medical Center, including the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital, University Hospital, East Hospital, Ross Heart Hospital, Brain and Spine Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. The department offers three top-tier residency and six fellowship programs. Research spans basic through applied investigations, and the department is also supported by the Wright Center for Innovation in Biomedical Imaging, the state-of-the-art 26,000 square-foot outpatient and research facility.

OSU College of Medicine is a key component of the OSU Wexner Medical Center, which is one of the largest and most comprehensive health sciences campuses in the world. It comprises seven hospitals, more than 100 clinical sites, 2,200 clinical faculty, 861 residents and fellows, and more than 20 research centers and institutes, along with 25 core research laboratories that promote collaboration among experts from virtually all departments, divisions and branch campuses of OSU.

The incoming chair must be passionate about building collaborative clinical and research programs of excellence, mentoring junior and mid-career faculty, and propelling OSU radiology to greater prominence.

The successful candidate will possess an outstanding national reputation of clinical and scholarly work and will have served in progressive leadership positions at an academic medical center. Candidates should also possess the experience and ability to recruit and retain world-class faculty, and have a commitment to mentorship. In addition, the successful candidate will be board certified in radiology, and have a distinguished record and accomplishment in scholarship, teaching, research, and clinical service suitable for an appointment at the academic rank of tenured professor.
