UW Hospitals and Clinics - Division Chief of Hematology, Medical Oncology & Palliative Care
The Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health invites applications/ nominations for the position of Chief of the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care to lead the clinical, research and educational mission of the Division.
The University of Wisconsin is widely recognized for its longstanding history of excellence in cancer research, patient care and education through the activities of the Division, the UW Carbone Cancer Center (a NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center), the Blood Research Program, the McArdle Laboratory and other programs. In addition, an NIH CTSA-funded Institute for Clinical & Translational Research provides the infrastructure for translational research across disciplines.
The more than 60 faculty members of the Division provide comprehensive care to patients with benign and malignant hematologic disorders and solid tumors in the inpatient and outpatient settings at UW Health and the Wm. S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. There are active clinical and research programs across a broad spectrum of hematologic and oncologic disorders including palliative medicine. Educational programs include ACGME-accredited Fellowships in Hematology/Oncology and Hospice/Palliative Medicine.
The new Chief will be an acknowledged academic physician with demonstrated excellence in research, education and clinical care. Candidates must be board certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology. They must demonstrate outstanding leadership skills, professionalism, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and an ability to develop interdisciplinary, collaborative programs. In addition, candidates should possess a record of scholarly achievements qualifying for a tenured appointment at the University of Wisconsin. The position will be supported by substantial institutional commitment, including significant resources and space for the candidate and the Division.
