Bentley University - Registrar

MA, Waltham

Bentley University, one of the nation’s leaders in business education, seeks a strategic, forward-thinking and collaborative leader to serve in the critically important role of registrar. Inquiries, nominations and expressions of interest are invited.

Located in Waltham, Massachusetts, Bentley University is more than just one of the nation’s top business schools. It is a lifelong-learning community that creates successful leaders who make business a force for positive change. With a combination of business and the arts and sciences and a flexible, personalized approach to education, Bentley provides students with critical thinking and practical skills that prepare them to lead successful, rewarding careers. Founded in 1917, the university enrolls 4,000 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate and PhD students and is set on 163 acres in Waltham, Massachusetts, 10 miles west of Boston.

Reporting to the associate provost for undergraduate education, the registrar will provide strategic direction for achieving the university’s goal of excellence, service, and efficiency in records and registration while providing exceptional administrative, logistic, and record-keeping services for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Additionally, the registrar will ensure compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory agencies. Setting the vision for a streamlined, modern and forward-thinking registrar’s office, the registrar will guide, support, and mentor a committed staff and foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, transparency, open communication, teamwork, student-centeredness, and service.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and collaborative leader to join a university ranked #2 in Regional Universities North by U.S. News and World Report, which is uniquely positioned to develop our future business leaders. Under the leadership of the new registrar, now is an opportune time to ensure the registrar processes and tools keep pace with change. The registrar will be charged with establishing an operation that is modern, flexible, dynamic, nimble, and constantly assessed and adjusted to meet current and future needs. The registrar will analyze and assess current policies and tools and develop new resources and initiatives that reflect the university’s long-term objectives. As a forward-thinking leader, the new registrar must fully embrace technology and the analytical tools to automate manual processes, and to make decisions and stay ahead of trends.

The community seeks a forward thinking and collaborative leader who is able to work in coordination with Bentley’s academic leadership and other partners. In addition, the new leader will possess a commitment to Bentley’s mission and values; exceptional communication, strategic planning, change management, and analytical skills; an ability to work independently and collaboratively; a strong work ethic; sophisticated technical skills; and a proven record of creating and reconfiguring registrar business processes and policies to further strategic institutional priorities.
