Colorado Health Institute, an independent nonprofit based in Denver, is seeking candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer. CHI’s mission is to improve the health of all Coloradans through independent research, analysis and insight that advance sound policies and decisions.

Established in 2002, CHI serves as an independent and impartial source of reliable and relevant health-related information and analysis to policy makers, funding organizations, health planners, businesses, consumer groups, health care providers, the media and other organizations. Started and initially funded by three prominent Colorado foundations, today CHI has diversified its funding sources and leverages a team of approximately 30 to provide research, policy, communications, programs and consulting services. CHI is a well-regarded convener of leadership in Colorado health policymaking circles and serves as a source of health services research for varied public and private organizations. 

CHI seeks a dynamic, collaborative and highly-strategic leader who brings strong financial acumen, exceptional communication skills and the ability to build talent, inspire staff and organize teams to advance key strategic priorities. Desired backgrounds and experiences within the arena of public health that will be of interest include working and collaborating with policymakers, research institutes, public sector agencies, non-profit organizations, provider organizations, consultancies and the like. The ideal candidate will bring senior-level leadership experience leading teams, working with boards, convening various constituency groups, advancing strategic partnerships and developing strategies to ensure revenue diversification and financial sustainability.

The salary range for this position is $275,000 – $325,000, depending on experience and related factors. Annual incentive compensation is tied to company performance and ranges from 0% to 20% of base salary. CHI offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, transportation and technology stipends, and paid time off annually.
