DePaul University invites applications, nominations and expressions of interest for the position of associate provost for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). This exceptional leader will serve as a strategic partner to the provost and academic affairs division at a student-centered private university where teaching and service are priorities. An experienced DEI leader, the next associate provost dean will bring an enterprising, motivated, and agile spirit to promote a holistic culture rooted in inclusion, equity and diversity.

The associate provost will be a visionary DEI leader whose commitment to innovation and campus wide-partnerships will enhance the delivery of programs and services aligning. The ideal candidate will be a natural collaborator, an excellent communicator, and a valued DEI professional who is brave and bold in collaborating on a strategic direction and a leader who, through their words and actions, supports and complements the DEI work of others at DePaul. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the passion, empathy, intelligence, and flexibility to partner with the DePaul University community in pursuit of its faculty development, and diversity and inclusion goals. In addition, this next associate provost will be a creative and highly motivated leader and administrator. A record of scholarship academic credentials commensurate for a professorial appointment as associate or full professor with tenure in one of the schools at DePaul is required.
The associate provost for DEI will help to lead DePaul’s efforts to shape a more inclusive university for current and future generations. While this is not a new position for the university, the scope and role has expanded as DePaul strives to create a true sense of belonging for all. Reporting to the Provost Salma Ghanem, Ph.D., the associate provost will strengthen policies, procedures and processes that enable faculty success throughout their careers across the university. Co-collaborators in driving this critical work include deans and other leaders across DePaul’s colleges and schools – the Driehaus College of Business, the College of Communication, the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media, the College of Education, the College of Law, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the College of Science and Health, the School of Music, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and the Theatre School.
