Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Director of Nursing Education, Professional Practice and Research. Located in Buffalo, New York Roswell Park is one of the nation’s leading cancer research and treatment centers and is one of the few NCI designated comprehensive cancer and research centers. Roswell Park’s main campus occupies 25 acres in downtown Buffalo and consists of the main hospital, ambulatory clinics and physician offices as well as numerous basic science and clinical research buildings. In addition, there are suburban locations and clinical affiliations with several community oncology practices and hospitals throughout the region.
The Director of Nursing Education, Professional Practice and Research leads and guides nursing staff and leadership in the development of research and evidence-based practice, stimulating, initiating and supporting nursing and interdisciplinary research, facilitating and coordinating studies and engaging nursing staff in research activity and scientific inquiry. This is successful leader establishes and implements strategies and programs to inspire, promote, and advance the professional development of clinical staff and mentors staff in collaboration with the Nurse Educators. The director will also implement and maintain professional development strategies intended to enhance the delivery of clinical nursing care and the professional growth of staff.
- A degree in nursing (Baccalaureate, Masters or Doctorate degree in nursing) and a Master’s degree in nursing, education, business or other related health care program and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse.
- Must hold or be eligible to hold a license as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- The preferred candidate will have their DNP, NP, PhD or MSN and it will be research focused.
- He/she will have at least five years in chemo infusion management, and oncology experience, and at least four years of full-time experience in a comprehensive cancer center or complex academic/research medical center, including one year of experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.
