The George Institute for Global Health at the University of Oxford is situated within the Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health, in the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford.
The Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health (NDWRH) is one of the largest and most successful academic departments in the world in its field. NDWRH encompasses multi-disciplinary research across the full spectrum of women’s health. Their work has four overarching themes: Cancer, Global Health, Maternal & Fetal Health and Reproductive Medicine & Genetics.
The successful appointee will already have a very strong track record in:
- securing funding for large-scale research initiatives, including ideally, working in partnership with colleagues in low and middle-income countries to address problems faced by under-served populations;
- overseeing the successful conduct of these initiatives; and
- producing high impact peer-reviewed publications, as well as outcomes that have had a significant impact on relevant policies and practices.
This position is a senior leadership role. As such, the successful appointee will be expected to provide the highest-level input into strategic planning, operational management, budget management, people strategy and development, and revenue generation for TGI UK, and as part of the global TGI team.
The successful appointee will have line management responsibility for the effective functioning of the growing TGI UK organisation, covering the main areas of Research, Communications and Development (Philanthropy), and Infrastructure.
