340B Health, the leading trade association for over 1,300 hospitals that participate in the 340B drug pricing program and educator to hospital members about the ever-changing 340B landscape, has retained WittKieffer to aid in recruiting the Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs and Public Policy.
Formed in 1993 to increase the affordability and accessibility of pharmaceutical and clinical care for the nation’s poor and underserved populations, 340B Health monitors, educates, and serves as an advocate on federal legislative and regulatory issues related to drug pricing and other pharmacy matters affecting safety-net providers. Association membership consists of a broad spectrum of hospitals, including academic medical centers, community hospitals, children’s hospitals, and rural facilities.
Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the SVP is responsible for to overseeing and directing the Legal & Regulatory Department and developing, executing and overseeing the department’s implementation of 340B Health’s legal and advocacy agenda. The SVP will be a lead contact working closely with 340B Health member hospitals on matters relating to compliance with 340B requirements and other legal initiatives, including providing one-on-one guidance as well as leading large-scale compliance-related projects. To do this effectively, he/she must closely monitor developments around regulatory, policy and compliance matters to ensure that 340B Health responds rapidly in a changing healthcare delivery and political environment. Additionally, the SVP will serve as an advocate and a spokesman to executive agencies and other key stakeholders and organizations, including, but not limited to CMS, HRSA, DOJ, FDA, FTC and state Medicaid agencies. As a highly visible and engaged member of the senior leadership team, this is an outstanding leadership opportunity for a talented and relational leader.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10-15 years of health care legal or policy experience, preferably representing hospital interests, or the interests of other types of providers and a broad understanding of the U.S. health care system from a hospital administration, legislative and regulatory, and consumer/patient perspective. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required.
