WittKieffer is partnering with SSM Health on a search for the System Vice President – System Finance for SSM Health. This is a unique opportunity to provide system level financial leadership at one of the most respected Catholic healthcare systems in the U.S.

SSM Health is a Catholic, not-for-profit, health system headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. The system holds a storied international reputation as a pioneer in the use of quality measures to improve care. As the sixth largest Catholic health system in the US, SSM Health is comprised of 23 hospitals, more than 290 physician offices and other outpatient and virtual care services, 10 post-acute facilities, comprehensive home care and hospice services, a pharmacy benefit company, a health insurance company and an accountable care organization.  The health system has continually been named an “AA- or higher” rated organization by Fitch Ratings agency for nearly two decades. In 2018, SSM Health had total assets of $8.4 billion and operating revenues of $7.6 billion. The System Vice President – System Finance is responsible for system accounting and related processes, financial reporting, external and internal audit, accounts payable, fixed assets including capital monitoring, budgeting processes, and tax compliance. She/he will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will be a key partner with operational finance, treasury, and systems services teams, working collaboratively across the system. The System Vice President will serve as a key resource and strategic business partner to the Chief Financial Officer, SVP Operational Finance, and members of executive management within SSM Health on matters related to the development of systems, processes, and infrastructure to enhance system performance. She/he will be leading efforts to ensure that operational leaders will have the necessary tools and dashboard to make informed decisions through the development of reporting capabilities and financial information support. 

Candidates should be viewed as a highly credible and professional leader with the ability to partner collaboratively across the system to enhance overall financial operations. She/he should be able to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the mission and values of the System. Candidates are expected to possess significant financial leadership experience in healthcare, with at least ten years of progressively responsible financial experience.
