Nelson Mann, FACHE, senior partner in WittKieffer’s healthcare practice, has over 25 years of experience in healthcare executive recruiting. Based in Austin, Texas, Nelson identifies CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and other C-suite executives and senior leaders on behalf of not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals, health systems, integrated delivery systems, managed care organizations, academic medical centers, medical schools and group practices. He is also the Investor Owned Practice Leader and has worked with the nation’s largest for profit healthcare organizations including: HCA, Tenet, Community Health Systems, Steward Health Care, Ardent Health Services, Surgery Partners, as well as several private equity firms.

Prior to joining WittKieffer, Nelson launched the Texas office for a top 10 retained executive search firm and served as the leader of the company’s diversity and for-profit organizations practices. He also conducted searches for that firm’s academic medicine leadership, CEO and financial leadership practices. He began his career with a nationally known firm, ultimately moving into the role of manager of the healthcare division and helping to guide the five-fold growth of the division. Early in his career, he spent several years as an area manager within the sales and marketing division at Johnson & Johnson.

Nelson is a member and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a board member of ACHE’s Central Texas Chapter, and regularly speaks at events hosted by ACHE, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and other industry organizations. He is also a guest lecturer within the Master’s of Health Administration program at Trinity University in San Antonio, UAB in Birmingham, and The University of Texas McCombs EMBA program. He also serves on the board of two not-for-profit organizations in Austin.
