Sharon Higgins serves as WittKieffer’s head of marketing and has more than 25 years of experience leading strategic marketing and communications efforts for higher education institutions and professional services organizations. Equal parts marketing strategist and tactician, she provides guidance and leadership across marketing and communication channels to strengthen the firm’s brand and market position and integrate marketing initiatives with business development goals to support each of WittKieffer’s practice areas. Sharon is an innovative, results-oriented leader who inspires others to find opportunities in challenges and to achieve excellence in all pursuits.
Prior to joining WittKieffer, Sharon was the associate vice president for marketing and communications at Loyola University Maryland, where she served as the president’s senior-most executive for strategic marketing and communications, focused on brand strategy, digital marketing, strategic communications, lead generation, enrollment, fundraising and alumni and community engagement. Sharon held previous marketing roles with College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Aon and Ernst & Young.
Under Sharon’s leadership, her teams have won recognition from the Professional Association for Design (AIGA), the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and Educational Digital Marketing Awards. She has presented at leading industry conferences, including the American Marketing Association’s Annual Conference on Higher Ed Marketing, CASE, eduWeb and the Graduate Management Admission Council. In addition, she has contributed to myriad community organizations, institutional task forces and working groups.
