Aaron Mitra, MHA, FACHE offers clients a wealth of experience gleaned from 25 years in varied senior executive search and leadership consulting roles in the healthcare realm. A communicator and collaborator, Aaron works closely with clients across academic medicine to identify transformative leaders (including physician executives) who align with their organizations’ present and future needs. He teams with colleagues in WittKieffer’s Academic Medicine and Health Sciences Practice as well as Physician Integration and Leadership Practice to analyze complex leadership challenges and find solutions that achieve desired outcomes and foster exceptional leadership.

Prior to joining WittKieffer, Aaron held the position of vice president—executive search with one of the largest healthcare executive recruiting firms in the U.S. His key clients included leading academic medical centers, medical schools, health systems, community hospitals and physician organizations. His search work covered all key C-suite positions, including CEOs, COOs and Chief Medical Officers. In academic medicine he specialized in recruitments for deans, chief academic officers, chairs and chiefs, gaining extensive experience leading academic search committees. Before that, Aaron served as principal and chief business development officer for a prominent healthcare consulting firm, specializing in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and hospital/physician alignment for the full continuum of healthcare organizations. Earlier in his career he worked with other leadership consulting firms with clients ranging from multi-institutional hospital systems and major academic medical centers to state and federal governments.

Aaron makes a point of staying active in key healthcare industry associations. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as well as a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and Society For Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD).
