Arlene Anschel has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare delivery management and executive information technology (IT) search. Arlene is a trusted advisor in IT executive search and is nationally recognized for specializing in the recruitment of chief medical information officers and other physician and clinical IT executives.

Arlene’s background in healthcare, including the clinical, administrative and business management facets, provides her with a unique perspective when conducting executive IT searches. Additionally, her previous experience working with large healthcare delivery systems, software vendors, consulting firms and healthcare IT start-up clients has given Arlene expertise in account management and business development.

Most recently, Arlene served as executive vice president with Hersher Associates, Ltd. in Northbrook, IL, a healthcare executive search firm specializing in the recruitment of CIOs and other senior-level information systems positions. While at Hersher, Arlene developed the company’s product line focused on physicians and other clinicians in information systems. Previously, she worked as director of a large multi-site chronic dialysis operation for 15 years, and was a founder and director of a medical insurance examining company.

Arlene is recognized nationally as a subject matter expert in the recruitment of physicians and information systems executives. She serves as a consultant to physicians in healthcare IT and advises clients on best practices in recruiting clinicians. Arlene is on the advisory board for a physician-driven consulting firm and has published on the IT physician role.
