Suzanne Teer is a nationally respected executive search consultant who partners with many of the nation’s most prestigious universities and research institutions to identify and recruit transformative leaders. With a deep understanding of the academic landscape and a passion for advancing higher education, Suzanne brings a strategic, collaborative, and service-oriented approach to every engagement.
Based in New Mexico, Suzanne leads searches for presidents, provosts, vice presidents, deans, and other senior academic and administrative leaders. She is particularly known for her expertise in science, engineering, research, and advancement leadership roles. Her clients span top-ranked research universities, independent research institutes, and leading private universities and colleges—reflecting her broad reach and trusted reputation across the higher education sector.
Suzanne’s career is rooted in two decades of advancement leadership within the University of California system, where she raised significant philanthropic support for the physical and biomedical sciences. She most recently served as Executive Director of Development at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCSF, where she was a member of the advancement executive team. She also held senior roles at UC Irvine and has worked across academic medical centers, liberal arts colleges, and independent schools.
Suzanne serves on the Board of Directors of WittKieffer and holds the NACD Directorship Certification from the National Association of Corporate Directors. She is a past Chair and Vice Chair of the National Association of Cancer Center Development Officers (NACCDO) and has served on the board of District VII of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Suzanne is also a certified professional coach, bringing a thoughtful and empowering lens to her work with both clients and candidates.
